Tarte flambee is French dish. It looks like pizza, but it isn’t. We can cook without yeast so it doesn’t take long time and crust is very thin. We can also decorate with fresh vegetables without bacon. So I guess it’s good for our health.
- 250g flour
- 45g oil
- a pinch of salt
- 100ml water (tepid is better)
- 2 onion(medium size)
- 140g bacon
- 100g Fromage Blanc or Yogurt 100g
- 100g Creme Fraiche or double cream
- 40g butter
- 8g nutmeg
- a pinch of salt and pepper
A. mix with flour, oil, salt, pepper and warm water. then knead until getting soft, maybe it takes 5 min. then leave it to rest for about 40-60 min (depends on season)
B. these are ingredients for topping on the crust. we prepare topping while crust is resting. slice onion and bacon (thin slice), mix double cream and yogurt(or Fromage Blanc), nutmeg and salt/pepper. and sautee onion with butter, sautee bacon. please don’t sautee both in same time, because we don’t need fat from bacon.
C. make crust spread a thin layer evenly into your oven’s size.
D. all(it already done in B and C) are topping on crust.
E. bake it in the oven with 250°C around 15mins.
F. Bona Appetit!
BTW… if you didn’t eat all, it’ll be leftovers but we can eat and it’s still tasty. I bring leftovers for my lunch with olives.
